Dance
The University of Central Oklahoma’s award-winning dance program offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance which prepares students for exciting careers as performers, choreographers and teachers. Outstanding faculty with varied backgrounds and professional experience offer a variety of coursework and training in modern, ballet, jazz and tap technique, teaching method, improvisation, composition, music and dance, Laban Movement Analysis, Bartenieff Fundamentals and more. The UCO Dance Program has a K-12 arts outreach program and has performed for over 60,000 young people in Oklahoma.

Guest Artists & Concerts: Along with presenting 4 dance concerts, we invite guest artists from around the world to teach and set works on the UCO dancers. Since l990 we have brought over 50 guest artists from around the world as guest artists in residence. Recently, Jesselee Santos, One of the most highly regarded dancers in Los Angeles was among the guest artists featured at this year's UCO Summer Dance Workshop.

Dance Degree: We offer a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Education that prepares students for careers as performers, teachers and choreographers. We offer a variety of coursework in modern dance, ballet, jazz and tap technique, teaching methods, improvisation, composition, music and dance, Laban Movement Analysis, Bartenieff Fundamentals and more.

Dance Company: We also have a performing dance touring company “The Kaleidoscope Dancers Company” which averages around 20 performances a year and attends the American College Dance Festival and Mid-America Dance Network Conference each year. The UCO Dance Program has been selected for the National American College Dance Festival that honors outstanding choreography and performances in the region. Our dance company was also selected to perform at the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center for Dance/USA and was one of 8 universities chosen to represent the “National Choreography Concert Initiative” Project. The Kaleidoscope Dancers perform two concerts each year on campus. The company has a varied repertoire consisting of modern dance, ballet, jazz, tap and theatre dance and they have received numerous awards for their performances and choreography.
