UCO Orchestras
The Orchestra Division of the UCO School of Music consists
of the UCO
Symphony Orchestra, the
UCO
Chamber Orchestra, and several other student chamber
ensembles. The division offers the student a wide range of
pedagogical, orchestral and chamber music experiences. With
a rich heritage of symphonic literature as a basis for repertoire

The UCO Symphony performs on the UCO campus, as well as throughout
Oklahoma and the surrounding region. During the spring of
2003, the Symphony performed for the College Music Societys
Regional Convention in Waco, Texas. During the fall of 2002,
they performed as a featured ensemble during the opening
week of the Eismann Performing Arts Center in Richardson,
Texas, sponsored by the Texas Chinese Performing Arts Academy.
Internationally recognized soloists perform regularly with
the orchestra and offer master classes during their campus
visits. Famed Viennese violist Eduard Melkus was the guest
in the spring of 2002, providing coaching clinics with chamber
groups, interaction with the orchestra in rehearsal, and
master classes on performance practice and pedagogy. For
