Performance Groups & Opportunities
The University of Central Oklahoma is truly one of our states
most unique institutions of higher learning. In addition to
being the first college chartered in Oklahoma, UCO is the
only university in the state with an enrollment between 10,000
and 20,000 students. With a student population around 16,000,
the School of Music faculty and students fill a vital role
as creative and cultural leaders on the campus. Our school
and university community are large enough to provide a multitude
of performance opportunities in a variety of ensembles and
groups. But the School of Music is still a comfortable environment,
where students and faculty establish a warm rapport with one
another, and the performance atmosphere is supportive and
encouraging.
The ensembles in the UCO School of Music provide dynamic opportunities
for performance by music majors as well as those students
who wish to continue to develop their musical talents while
majoring in other academic disciplines.
If you would like additional information regarding a particular
performing group, please follow one of the links below, which will provide you with contact information for the appropriate musical director.
You Can Be A Part of It!
Most
of the major ensembles in the School of Music are open
to all students. You don't have to be a music major,
or even a music minor. If you have a passion for music
and you want a great place to explore it, we have a group
for you. From marching band, to symphony, to choir,
to music theatre, there is something for everyone here. If you are interested in auditioning,
or would like more information, follow one of the links below,
or call the music office at (405) 974-5004.
