Our School of Music’s music theatre and opera productions have a tradition of excellence in Oklahoma. Productions are contemporary and classic, familiar and ground-breaking. As a testament to the quality of our program and its productions, you will find many of our music theatre and opera alumni performing on Broadway and touring with national companies.

7:30 pm, Oct. 25 & 26, Rose State Performing Arts Theater

Presented in conjunction with Broadway Tonight, this concert performance of the musical stars Shirley Jones, Patrick Cassidy and former Miss America and returning UCO student Lauren Nelson performing such musical hits as, “If I Loved You,” “June is Busting out All Over” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone.”

Come and enjoy a wonderful evening of French cabaret songs and opera arias at the UCO Jazz Lab as the School of Music’s Opera workshop celebrates the music and culture of France. This is truly an evening you won’t want to miss. Vive La France!

Merry Memories ++

8 pm, Dec. 11-13 & Dec. 18-20, UCO Jazz Lab

Edmond’s annual jazzy holiday tradition continues.  A festive jazz quartet along with UCO Music Theatre’s finest vocalists sing, dance and swing their way through the sounds of the season. This show is a great way to kick off your holiday celebration. Early reservations recommended.

Civic Center Music Hall Freede Little Theatre

This girl-meets-ghoul musical explodes with teenage ballads, doo-wop, gospel and rock. A campy, rollicking romp that stays safely on the “sunny side” of the macabre. For tickets, call City Rep at (405) 848-3761.

Così Fan Tutte

This delightful comedy is considered to be one of Mozart’s greatest operas. It is a story of an old bachelor, Don Alfonso, who challenges the concept of women being faithful. He bets two young men that their fiancés will not be faithful for even a day. The gentlemen accept the bet, disguise themselves and try to court the others bride-to-be. With a little help from Despina, the servant of the two young ladies, we get a delightful series of events sure to be enjoyed by all.
